The city of Oberwesel is considered as an impressive evidence of town construction in the Middle Ages. Here one can admire 16 military towers and an accessible city wall, not only on the occasion of the Middle Ages Spectaculum.

Well worth seeing are Schönburg castle, the "Liebfrauen" church and the parish church "St.Martin".

Sporting activities are possible on the fixed rope route called Oelsberg, as well as on several walking tours such as the sculpture park or the Rhein Burgen Wanderweg.
